Telecommunications technicians are responsible for providing suitable support for mining company workers in the field of telecommunications services. They ensure that all the telecommunications systems under their responsibility remain in an operational state. They perform maintenance, detect and correct telecommunications problems on various systems, such as wired, wireless and optical networks, cameras and surveillance equipment, access control systems and telephone systems. Telecommunications technicians support the technological projects introduced by a company to improve its operations. They may also install and maintain remote-control systems and work with computer technicians as required.
