Building maintenance labourers clean or maintain the inside and outside of various facilities on the mine site. For example, in offices they clean and disinfect work surfaces, sanitary facilities, walls and floors. They also clean changehouses and bedrooms, if applicable. They may perform various seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal or the maintenance of green spaces accessible to employees. They are able to carry out other routine maintenance tasks, such as painting and simple tasks involving furnishings, cladding and insulation. They may adjust heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and carry out a few minor repairs or contact the relevant trade when major repairs are necessary.
