Communications advisors are responsible for drawing up and implementing plans for communications, the effective promotion of messages based on the company's strategic aims, and relations with stakeholders to position the company with target audiences, whether internal or external. They create communication tools for social media and websites and prepare or outsource the preparation of reports, speeches, presentations and press releases. They establish and maintain relations with the media, and prepare interviews and press conferences. They act as spokespersons for the company and respond to verbal and written requests for information. They may participate in activities to deploy and maintain the process to establish relations with the mine's host communities.
