Accounts payable and payroll clerks process all the invoices that a mining company receives for purchases made or services used. They are responsible for the systems used to manage invoices and purchase orders. They contact various company suppliers for follow-up and verify statements of account. When payment is authorized, they enter invoices in the batch of invoices that will be paid at the next cheque issue. They give employees information on questions about pay, social benefits and the application of the collective agreement. In addition, they may administer the payroll, compile timesheets, and prepare various documents in connection with the payroll and employee hiring.
